  1.  By placing an order for a cake and making a payment you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of service which are outlined below.

  2.  Celebration cake orders require a deposit of £50 to secure your event date and order, and the balance must be paid no later than 7 days before delivery. For orders placed for delivery within 2 weeks, full payment must be made to secure the booking. If you choose to cancel your order after payments have been made, these are non-refundable.

  3.  Wedding cake orders require a deposit of £100 to secure your date and order, and the balance must be paid no later than 28 days before delivery. For orders placed for delivery within 3 months, full payment must be made to secure the booking.

  4.  Delivery times will be agreed in advance for a mutually agreed 1 hour window. Someone will need to be present on delivery to accept the cake and acknowledge the cake is in good condition. You must advise in advance any limitations on this and any relevant access information including, but not limited to, turn around time in a wedding venue, unmarked access roads or buildings, lack of parking at the delivery address. Responsibility from this point on is solely with the client or venue.

  5.  Collection times must be agreed in advance and you will be allocated a 1 hour window. Arrival outside of this time may result in you not being able to collect your cake.

  6.  You assume all liability and responsibility for the cake once it is collected from Cake It So, or has been accepted at the delivery address. Care instructions are provided with every cake and should be followed. 

  7.  Portion numbers given are a guide only and will depend on the way the cake is cut and served. You agree to ensure the cake is cut to the sizes you require. 

  8.  Your cake is baked to ensure perfect freshness on your event date. As such, the event date given by you should be assumed to be the best before date of the cake. The cake must not be refrigerated before serving.

  9. Flavour combinations and coatings will be as described in the flavour list (see flavours here) unless explicitly agreed otherwise. A full ingredients can be provided on request for your cake. All cakes contain gluten (wheat), milk and eggs. Nuts and other allergens are handled in the kitchen, and many ingredients are labelled as may contain nuts and soy. As a result, all cakes must be considered as MAY CONTAIN NUTS and many as MAY CONTAIN SOY. All cakes will be supplied with full allergen information. Please ask for additional allergy information. 

  10.  Hired stands will require a security deposit, the value of which will depend on the individual stand. The stand must be returned in the same condition it was received within 5 days of the event and at a pre-agreed time, to Cake It So, 7 Teasel Bank, LS28 8DP, at which point the deposit will be refunded.

  11.  Alterations may be made to the order up until the date of the final payment, and may be subject to additional charge depending on the changes. Any work already undertaken (including, but not limited to, frames, figures and sugar flowers) will be required to be paid for in full in the event of down-sizing or cancellation.

  12.  If flowers or other items are being added to the cake from an outside source (e.g. your florist) you assume full responsibility for ensuring these are food safe (i.e. non-toxic, and free from pesticides, dirt, and bugs).

  13.  Colour matches are not always possible to make exactly due to the nature of colouring sugarpaste. Occasionally changes to a design may need to be made at last minute, Cake It So reserves the right to make these changes without consultation for the good of the overall presentation of your order.

  14.  Cake It So reserves the right to photograph your order both before delivery and in situ at the venue, where applicable, and use these photographs for marketing and other purposes.

  15. In the unlikely event that you have a complaint about your cake, you agree to raise this at the earliest possible time. This should be at the point of delivery or collection wherever possible in order that Cake It So can resolve the issue immediately. For matters not raised upon receipt, the complaint should be made in writing to sarah@cakeitso.co.uk and the cake must be retained for inspection by Cake It So.  

  16.  In the event that I must cancel your order due to Covid, illness, or other unexpected circumstance as much notice as possible will be given and all money paid will be refunded, regardless of work undertaken.
